Hisence TV

Anyone any thought on Hisence TVs?

I'm looking to replace my ageing 50" LG plasma and this seems ideal.

Not really interested in the "smart" side of things as I have loads of other sources for this or the sound as I have a 6.1 surround sound system.

Mainly to be used for films, general TV and occasional gaming via PS3/Wii U.

If you still need to, that may be a much better place to ask. ;)

It's another "how long is a bit of string" type question in many ways.
For me (and some in the threads in the linked forum) Hisense are ........ let's say "less than ideal" as a TV manufacturer so far.

Added to which IMHO it depends upon far too many things which we still don't know from your post; for example, how far away from your TV is your viewing distance?
Because to get the benefit of UHD you need to be sitting fairly close.

Also your viewing habits might suggest UHD isn't really needed.
Viewing "standard" broadcast TV on an UHD TV is not usually a very good experience.

Having said that, you may find it difficult to find a non-UHD TV :D - or it may suit your needs perfectly.

The very best thing you could to is to look at one "in the flesh" and have a go with it yourself.
This is sadly not always possible though - if you're near enough to RS to visit - your linked retailer is usually very helpful.

Richard, did you decide on a TV?

I picked up a Hisense H55M3300 earlier this week and have been really impressed.
