Maternity leave and living on a low income

Hi,
I'm not sure where I stand with regard to any benefits we may be entitled to.
When I go on Maternity leave I'll be in 90% of my wage for 6 weeks, then on SMP, which is £106 per week. My Husband earns a low wage, and we'll be really struggling on this money. We're worried about how we'll manage on this amount! Is there any other help out there besides SMP? I'll be returning to work at the end of my maternity leave.

When baby is born apply for child benefit (£17 a week for eldest child) and tax credits.
Tax credits depend on your household income but there is an additional £545pa paid for the first year of babys life.0 -
You'll probably be entitled to tax credits.
You'll also get child allowance (about £17.50 or so per week).
There are other means tested benefits that you need to look into.
