Background Check/CV

I haven't told anybody yet. I won't tell them until I know for sure that everything is passed and I can start the job0
-
Thing is I've had the offer and accepted it, and the contract is on its way to me. So they're expecting me to sign it and give notice, but I don't want to do this until this employment check is sorted0

If anybody else has some thoughts I would appreciate them0

How did your interview go? When I went for an insurance job they came in the room and did the screening form then so it's a pity if you didn't have that as an option. Like they disregarded the CV anyhow. I could imagine the greater problem if someone verbally embellished the truth at that time along with CV/application. I was also left with the impression references weren't checked which I only learnt that later in the process either that or they were very confident they could in 4 or 5 days lol.
Can you prove the gap if it came to it? I remember being warned that I might have to prove any gaps going back to the interview. I've said it before but I think you have to be more credit worthy nowadays so I think you'll be fine.0 -
The interview went fantastically, and they called me back that afternoon to offer me the job, saying how much they loved me! But at the end of the day, isn't it up to HR to make the ultimate decision as to employing me? Seeing as HR is massive for such a large banking institution and everything is done through them?
I can prove the gap yes, but it's whether they see it as me lying to them. Because even though they've passed me for the credit/criminal checks, they obviously still want me to pass the employment. At the same time, it was after they did the criminal/credit checks that the hiring manager called me to confirm the contract would be coming in the post. Do you think they would do this if they were so concerned about results of employment screening e.g my cv?0 -
Also, I've told the truth on my screening form but just not on my cv. Do you think that would go in my favour or seen as a conflict of integrity? I'm sorry for all the questions, I just feel like I'm in a right situation here!0

I haven't really had anything to say that my online form submission will be compared with my CV, but I can only assume that this is one of the things they will do?0

I'm saying that if anybody puts the two together it is most likely to be HR. Whether they would isn't something I can answer, which is why I suggested that you'll only get a good answer from someone who works in banking HR.0 -
Well I would have thought that the screening company would have a copy of my cv so they would be the one to notice any differences. And seeing as they've already given my employer the go-ahead in terms of my criminal/credit checks, which led to them sending me my contract and start date, I would hope that there isn't really an issue. But this is all assumptions obviously.0

I think I'm going to hand in my notice next week and hope for the best.0
