Travel Insurance

I am trying to answer the questions honestly for a travel insurance quote. I have diabetes type 2 + another couple of conditions which I have put down. Do I have to put down that I have an Ophthalmology Outpatients appointment (tests) coming up. If so what do I class it as, as Ophthalmology does not appear as a condition or does it just come under diabetes?

Comments

  • Yes you must tell them about your appointments even if they give you the all clear.
Not mentioning, will give them the perfect excuse to not pay out should you have to make any claim - they will ask permission to see your GP notes for any major medical claim.

Err on the side of caution with any insurance company.
  • There is the question on the declaration which reads something like

"Are you awaiting the outcome of any tests or have any appointments booked?"

So if you do not declare that will be an easy way for the insurer not to pay out.
