One last point is that it's a bank holiday here on Monday so you won't get an answer until Tuesday. Your supplier might get something out of NatWest's fraud department before then as it could be claimed that they've potentially been defrauded.

Did you pay by SWIFT ?
Did you give them the correct info (except the inaccurate IBAN)?

Is there any other method of making electronic payments between countries (other than SEPA)?

Can I clarify? Did you mistype or did you enter the wrong number because you were sent the wrong number?

If the latter it sounds like invoice redirect fraud, it's becoming an increasing problem unfortunately.

SEPA wasn't out of the question.

However, Tipanet and eurogiro are two other international networks that I am aware of.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of those. I don't think SEPA or Tipanet would be likely for a payment originating in Egypt, but eurogiro looks like it could be possible - although I think you'll agree that SWIFT is the most likely, and hopefully we'll get confirmation at some point.
