I wonder if Get Reading used an archive picture, they are not cutting edge journalists.
I otten use this car park, it is a minefield for the sheeple.
Possibly as Johno100 points out the article is nearly one year old as well..
@ The Deep - if you regularly use the car park perhaps you could take newer photos ...
The sign has a BPA member logo on it and UKCPS have been members of the IPC since November 2014Nobody else noticed this story is nearly 12 months old?
Indeed not quite uptodate news0 -
So the site is monitored by anpr for the purpose of parking, how would they know the driver left site unless they have cctv for that purpose only. How would they know a person leaving site had not walked onto the site in the first place? Why are they monitoring all individuals?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

My son had a ticket from there and they had a photo of him leaving the site.
(It was before the law changed, so I just ignored it.)0 -

1. How could the PPC know the name of the person they took a photo of?
2. How could the PPC know that he had not just dropped other passengers at the shop before parking up (i.e. how do they know/how could they have evidenced, just by a photo of the back of a person's head, that 'patrons only' was being abused)?
3. We'd bet that there was no site map showing the boundary of the 'site' to define what constitutes 'leaving'.
4. We'd bet the signs were unreadable anyway! Small print on poles, as ever. How would a person know they could not first nip to a cashpoint over the road before shopping and how would they have 'agreed' to the terms they couldn't read? Rhetorical questions...
They wouldn't.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As far as the PPCs go, they drive my business away, so the shops who contract them lose out.0 -
I was just saying they had a photo and it was recognisable, rather than endorsing their practice.
Yep, I know you weren't! Sorry, I should have added a smiley:
I guess the comment was more for newbies to reassure them that photos that PPCs may have do not identify the driver by name nor do photos cover all angles as evidence...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
