Hi All,
Ive had a quote for some clip in blinds from the local blind shop, it was exceedingly expensive. She is calling the rep on Tuesday to see what can be done on the price. We have new french doors and I want to do it right/nice first time, we had a manky old single glazed pane and terrible curtains for ages, it looks so good now :j I dont want to ruin it.
In the meantime, I checked online and of course found much more reasonable price. Does anyone have experience of buying and fitting these things themselves? If its a complete dud I wont bother and will pay the extra - however the extra would cost me hundreds! and delay sorting the other windows.

We had perfect fit blinds in a previous property. They looked good and fitted well. Easy to fit : I think there is a guide on Youtube. My only regret is that I cant get them for my current place, I'd have them again in an instant. We bought them online and the price was very competitive0

Thank you. Im going to buy them for the window in the hallway. If it works well I will buy them for the french doors and probably the bedroom also but will give the hall a go first.
I would like to shop local but for the price difference I just cant justify it.0 -
If you can drill a few holes and fit raw plugs then you can fit clip in blindsEx forum ambassador

yes good point...its just it seems too easy?
I keep thinking there is a reason the shop is so hideously expensive yet online seems quite reasonable (about 50% cheaper). That Im going to spend a few hundred on blinds for french doors and another 3 windows, and then find that I cant fit any of them because its impossible and that I should have just paid the extra from the shop and got them to fit them in the first place.
Now that I have money to do it all properly Im freaking out :rotfl:0 -
We have bought wooden venetians from this company....

And our daughter has bought both "perfect fit" venetians, and ordinary venetians and roller blinds from them.
Service was good and the blinds are good. Can recommend.
You need to measure accurately, but the fitting is very easy, the "perfect fits" just clip into place.0 -
perfect fit blinds should not require any drilling. I am a consultant for a national company offering curtains and blinds and the ones that we sell are simply a clip that pushes behind the seal.
you just have to get your measurements spot on!0 -
Thank you. To have given me the confidence to go ahead now.
I will measure again and will also get my husband to before I order anything.
At the prices online I will be able to do all of the windows I need to:j0
