Travelodge took my money help!

So I was booking tonight to stay in travelodge in bath for a few days next week. Problem is when I went to pay it kept declining the payment. I tried twice. I then gave up and said I'd try again tomorrow. However I had an alert from santander asking whether I had authorised two different transactions from today one being travelodge. I checked my account and the money for the travelodge (£300!!!) has been taken out by them but no booking confirmation or reference e-mail has been sent to me. I also tried to look up my booking confirmation number on the travelodge website but they say there's no record of a current confirmation for my e-mail address. Help and advice please I'm panicking! what can I do?!
