Hermes State Amazon W/Hse Purchase Is Delivered-Was "Out For Delivery" Nearly A Week!

Which beggars the question of why you might regularly be having items despatched by you to your friend. Can't he open his own Amazon account?it's just a hassle to get Amazon items delivered to me, and then to the Highlands! No customer would be willing to do that for long.
Are you really expecting them to refund the purchase price AND send you a replacement phone? :eek:the representative did ask if the phone was a gift (not sure if he was hinting he could arrange a replacement) but I will be getting a follow-up call tomorrow.0 -
Er why are you being so snippy with me? I thought MSE was a friendly place to ask advice? Every time you've commented on here you've been rather curt, to say the least.Moneyineptitude wrote: »Which beggars the question of why you might regularly be having items despatched by you to your friend. I don't see why I should explain myself, but, he doesn't have Prime. Me, my brother, sister and mum all pay together for the account, I send him supplements or other bargains as he likes to take advantage of the quick post or delivery fee under £20. Which is great if it's anyone other than Hermes (as mentioned, Royal Mail deliver mostly before the "Arrive By" date).
I have no expectations, but Amazon have been great so far, and Alice did suggest that she got a faulty Warehouse item replaced.
And no, I am a decent person and I wouldn't expect a refund AND a replacement phone. Wind your neck in and be "outraged" at someone who deserves it.0 -
Yes, like her, you had the choice of a full refund OR a replacement (if available).Alice did suggest that she got a faulty Warehouse item replaced.
You have already chosen to have a refund. She has obviously chosen replacements in the past.
So if you want a "replacement", you'll have to purchase one again with the money they refunded. You have no right to a refund AND a replacement.0 -
Thanks for your valuable input. Hopefully you will be nicer to other MSE members.Moneyineptitude wrote: »Yes, like her, you had the choice of a full refund OR a replacement (if available).

Your earlier posts suggested that you do:I wouldn't expect a refund AND a replacement phone.
If you've had a refund already, then why haven't you simply ordered the replacement ?I want to know where the parcel ended up, if it's been stolen and if I can get a replacement.0 -
If I (or my friend) wants a replacement, he will pay for it, just like any other Amazon member would. I'm sure Amazon will just update me on the investigation they've made tomorrow. I'll worry about that

If they have located the item then they'll obviously give you the choice of re-purchasing it yourself or having it recalled to their depot.I'm sure Amazon will just update me on the investigation they've made tomorrow.
I know you are hoping they will say you can keep the item despite already them refunding it, but I think it's a forlorn hope. You certainly no longer have any Consumer Rights with regard the item as you no longer own it.0 -
Absolutely not. If the item turns up (which I doubt after such a long time) I will be honest and let Amazon know. Please don't make assumptions.Moneyineptitude wrote: »If they have located the item then they'll obviously give you the choice of re-purchasing it yourself or having it recalled to their depot.

Amazon didn't offer me a replacement when refunding me, I didn't know it was an option for a Warehouse item - hence me asking on here.
Whatever happens I will get a definitive reply tomorrow. It's not the end of the world, I was just curious to hear from other MSErs who had been in a similar situation.0 -
Well, as I told you at post #4 of this thread, your choice of phone will be limited to the models they have in stock. Warehouse items are a bit of a lottery; one might be a brand new item with damaged packaging while another might be one slightly used but returned within the online cooling off period. So it's much more difficult to provide like-for-like exchanges. Hence why one was not offered.Amazon didn't offer me a replacement when refunding me, I didn't know it was an option for a Warehouse item
If you had pressed the Amazon representative, he would have told you that you could simply order a another item with your refund. Of course , he wouldn't be able to guarantee delivery wouldn't be by Hermes again!
