There's only a conflict of interest if they stand to gain from the will, hence my questions to the OP. It's common for sols to do wills for their friends, and conveyancing and other non contentious work.

I take it you don't work in the legal industry? The primary aim of any complaint investigation will be to protect the reputation of the firm, and that would not include admitting that they have a potential sex pest working for them.

That depends on the firm concerned.

The conflict issue would not be limited to the solicitor standing to gian personally, thereare also potential issues around whether they are able to give imparial advice based on what is in the clinet's best interests. And it is generally considered best practice to avoid acting wherethere is an actual conflict, a likely future conflict or the liklihood of a perception of conflict.

Yes, solicitors frquently act for friends and family members but they have to ensire that they are acting in thei client's best interests. And a situation where someone is asked to do work for a persona they already have a pre-exisiting relationship with is very different to someone going to see a solicitor in a purely business capacity and then starting a relationship.
