TSB Classic Plus Interest dropping?
Comments

The 'Easy Saver' rate is dropping to 0.05%. No point in having the 'save the change' facility anymore.0
-
But before they make the changes they have to give us a notice right? What happens if you push this button?0

I wonder whether they'll be in line for an award next year?
Or perhaps all the banks will be in the running for the "Race to the Bottom" medal..........:rotfl:0 -

You don't have to be the best, just the least worst.0 -
People may well be tempted (as 'the powers that be' would like) to spend their money, before it loses even more value. The downside being that some will drop into the benefits range , as they have only an income and no savings.
On the bright side : a couple of years ago we had poor savings rate and no bonus from opening current accounts. (Can't remember what the interest rates were though).0 -
so hopefully they will make an announcement soon will leave if they drop the rate to 2%0

Yeah I hope so, I am happy with the 5% they offer0

You need to take into account the loss in interest on the amount which can no longer be put into the account. The best of these is "£1250 at 3.5%" and very worst by far is "£2000 at 2%".0

I prefer the 4% for 1000 over the others ... at a least the other bits of money can be put in other decent interest bearing accounts (or loads more on almost any P2P platform).0
