Best time to book hotel Crete summer 2017

So I've managed to get the flights to Crete for next August, via Avios


That leaves the hotel to pick off. Does anyone know when the best time to book. 9 / 6 / 3 months out.


Can't find any websites that gives a clue, unlike with flights

We did exactly the same this summer. I'm very picky about accommodation so booked as soon as I'd got the flights as I knew where I wanted to stay. The price only fluctuated with the Euro really after that. There might be some variation, but likely to be outweighed by lower choice and availability.

Crete has a large amount of accommodation from very basic to high end luxury, some of it is also a long way from Heraklion airport.
It's worth spending a lot of time looking at what's available to narrow down possibilities.
Some of it won't also go on sale until next year.

We've also booked reward flights to Greece for next Summer. We book them as soon as they become available, but then don't usually book our apartment or hotel until January.
I always find there is much more choice in January for some reason.

The hotel I love in Kato Stalos, Crete, was fully booked for the weeks I wanted in July, by early February.

Choose the hotel you like and email them now. It won't do any harm.
