Well, fibre to the premises doesn't necessarily mean that the phone is impacted by a fault with the router (I have Virgin cable and my phone is a separate connection to the connection for the router). Unless it's cheaper to get fibre broadband with IP phone than to have a separate phone it seems a bit of a shortsighted setup.0
