Hospital Car Park Disabled Parking

Options
I parked in a hospital disabled car park... I was concerned about my appointment with my consultant... I displayed my disabled badge correctly & bought the £1.50 ticket as it states that is the charge... unfortunately I did not display this properly, probably because my mind was elsewhere...
I came out of my appointment having bad news & then to find a parking ticket!
As it is a hospital car park - do I have to pay the charge?
To make matters even worse... My husband two days later...received a notice for not displaying in a Napier car park! Neither have either of us ever had a parking charge before!
We could really do without having to pay so has anybody got any advice for either (or hopefully both) tickets? Any advice would be gratefully received :)

Read the NEWBIES FAQS thread and appeal to both. NOT saying who was driving, in the case of the Hospital one.

    - the Hospital parking one, you MUST complain to PALS (Google it) to get it cancelled quicker. Which company was it? Gemini or UKPC or who?

    - the Napier one is harder to win but did he pay the tariff? Napier are best if appealed in a 'normal' way (no template appeal). And indeed maybe even saying who was driving & what happened, seems more likely to get a Napier one cancelled than any other approach.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Some hospitals do keep parking in house (like mine), and the charge is often much lower (£10 here) and is cancelled for genuine patients. (city centre)

Almost no-one is chased for it (when staff get a notice)
  • Thank you so much for your reply... I will try both - AND make sure we are both more careful! It is unbelievable that we both got one within 2 days of each other neither of us having never got one before!
I got bad news from the hospital & couldn't believe my luck getting that too :(
    I do appreciate your response
