Subsidence

Hello we had subsidence in our old house and the insurance company were very good in getting it fixed and the bonus was that they paid for the redecorating and replastering - both internal and external. We put our house on the market a few months later and received asking price. Our buyer has to take out insurance with the existing insurers which was no problem. the premiums are a bit higher but not that much.
I think I read somewhere that the insurers are legally obliged to continue insuring the house that they repaired due to subsidence and they were not in a position to refuse new cover for us and our buyer.
Like you I was worried and anxious about it all but it was all handled really well and a project manager from a specialist company handled it all.
Only downside was the work was discruptive but it was all worth it in the end and our buyer commented recently how happy they were with the house and had no problems.
You can't hide it as you have to declare it and also the buyers survey would pick up on it so best to be open about it at the beginning.
Good luck.:beer:0
