Could you point out a link to this, please ?
All I can find is what looks like older legislation which says you can only get help with a second degree in special circumstances ?
I had to pay for my own degree, as I'd previously taken a Cert. Ed. course.0 -

As I am a new user I am unable to post a link but if you type 'funding for postgraduate study' into Google the first one to come up should be the gov.uk page. There is also a page here on MSE and a forum thread but my question is more related to benefits which is why I chose here to ask the question. My partner was informed of it earlier this year by an lecturer friend of his but it is from this month so it is a very new thing.
Hope that helps.0 -

You could try http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/how-we-can-help/helplines/disabled-students-helpline
As an aside - Are you getting a carers addition to your joint ESa claim?
Is the ESa Contribution-based, by any chance? This might make a difference. (The other type is income-based)

Does the Uni have a welfare officer?
Study & benefits is complicated. So you may wish to get a few accredited opinions.
Your local CAB will have a copy of the Disability Rights Handbook which has a chapter on Student Benefits. You may wish to ask for copies of the relevant pages. They also have a specialist support unit (SSU), so it could be worth asking them to get a response for you from their SSU. Because it is your partner embarking on the MA, and you have a joint ESa claim, it is going to be complicated for a generalist volunteer CAB adviser (hence asking your local CAB to contact their SSU).

Is the ESa Contribution-based,
The OP saidSo I am a long term ESA (income related) and DLA claimant in the ESA support group due to mental health issues.
I found this thread from 2012

post 3 seems relevant but of course the thread is old.
However, a PM to "von" who seems knowledgeable about benefits - (recent example

might throw some light?0
