I wondered whether anybody has been in the same position, I received a thank you but no letter with a breakdown of my points, where I was 1 point short on daily living and 4 points on mobility.
I have already asked for a reconsideration and the lady I spoke to in fairness was very sympathetic and considerate on the phone. I did not have a face to face, I have a diagnosis of PTSD, severe anxiety and depression and had supplied all papers related to this from my psychologist and local mental health team. A lot of the points I actually agreed on but there was a couple I felt were a little unfair. I wondered whether anybody else has been so close and yet so far and what their experience was with a reconsideration?
Thanks for trawling through my long winded post!

Mandatory reconsiderations now almost always come to the same conclusion as the original PIP award.
In my own case I was short for daily living in 2013 and after 16 weeks of waiting for the MR decision and a LOT of trauma and lies from dwp, my MP had them add the extra 2 points I needed so I didn't have to go to tribunal. I already had enhanced mobility as I can't walk.
My second PIP claim more recently was a totally different story. I was treated with respect and given the awards I deserved without any hassle or reconsiderations.
The PIP horror story was at the very beginning of PIP and, in my personal experience, things have changed since then.
If you only recently phoned for a reconsideration it would be very wise to follow up in writing. Phonecalls can get forgotten, letters with proof of posting not as much. If the phone call gets forgotten, unless you recorded the call, you have no proof you asked for a reconsideration within the strict time limits.Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".0 -
Thank you for the advice Diary, I will certainly follow up with a letter, I hadn't considered the fact that my phone call may or may not be logged.0

Just remember that if you ask for a MR, you could also lose points.0

The problem with points is that giving one person an extra point means that there is another person who is just one short and if they are given the point....because there is a continuous spectrum of disability.0

Please appeal......
My wife appealed and it went to court on the day before the DWP looked at the case again and
Gave her 5 extra points for care
6 for mobility

I was given no points for both esa and pip but that was because my GP didn't know me personally and the person who diagnosed me with [ADD, anxiety, AS and other possible issues] is long gone and can not be contacted to provide evidence of the difficulties I faced as a child which persist throughout adulthood as they are lifelong conditions.
Closest advice bureau is 2 hours walk away, no money for transport as I am on a 26-week sanction that I cannot appeal - it was a simple case of not logging my jobsearch for UC. And most welfare offices that deal with my condition have closed down or moved elsewhere. Plus I cannot apply for PIP unless the issue is new or gotten worse which I suppose its pretty much stayed the same.0 -
When I had my ESA redecision 3 years ago I went from zero points to 1 short of WRAG because they didn't take into account my autism affecting everyday tasks.0
