Living outside UK: Any effect on Building Society windfall rights?

Hi all,
I have recently moved to Oz and I am in the process of tidying up various bits and pieces of admin.
I have a number of building society accounts and I was about to write to them to inform them about my change of address. I just wondered if this would have any effect on future possible windfall entitlement. Does anyone recall if any of the previous demutualisation/takeover windfalls had a residency clause?
Would I be better off keeping a "care-of" address with a relative for these accounts?
Thanks in advance,
PPJ

We live in Spain and Portman have said that this does not affect our windfall entitlements.
Be aware though that other BS's may not allow you to have an account at all if you are non-UK resident. West Bromwich BS told my husband he must close his account if he did not have a UK address. Luckily we still have our house in the UK and our son lives there, so we told them to keep it registered to this adress.
Hope this helps.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
OK, thanks for the prompt reply.
Anyone know if these B Soc's allow a non-UK address?
