my son 19 years old just passed his driving test .He bought a 1984 metro and using all the moneysupermarket type sites the cheapest insurance for london postcode came to £1500. which he was going to pay..but with a little perseverance I was quoted £780 by a broker from birmingham{using rbs insurance}....so only use them as a guideline to start with..

The internet sites only represent part of the market (though it is growing it has to be said).
Doing things the old fashioned way by using a broker can often yield results. They have access to more schemes / policies than is available to the public.
Good result for your son :)
