Kitten peeing on MY bed help :(

We took in a kitten at 5 weeks old after she was abandoned by her mum. We had to stimulate her to go toilet for the first few days and would put her in her litter tray as soon as she started to do something. She was doing well until I put some litter powder in her tray to stop it from smelling. Then she started peeing on my bed
. We thought it might have been down to this powder so we cleaned and changed her litter tray (no powder) and washed the bedding and the duvet. We've caught her a few times trying to pee on the same spot on the bed and last night we were too late. What can we do to stop her? Any advise very much appreciated

Unfortunately, duvets can feel an awful lot like a litter tray to kittens!
I foster kittens for a local rescue and always keep them confined to a giant dog crate (with litter tray at one end, food, water and bed at the other, some toys etc in the middle) when unsupervised until they have got the litter tray thing down. It does sometimes take them a while, especially when they don't have their mum around to show them how it's done.
Basically, I wouldn't leave her with access to any beds at the moment unless you are there and giving her 100% attention. I'd get another litter tray or two so there can always be one close by wherever she is (you can phase the extra ones out if needed when she's bigger) and maybe try a couple of different types of litter so she can choose which she prefers as they can feel really different underfoot for them.
I use Oktoplus gold, which costs a bit but a bag lasts ages as you only replace the clumps and it definitely keeps smells right down.
In terms of the bedding she has 'been' on, make sure you clean it with stuff that DOESN'T contain ammonia, as to cats that smells like wee and thus they go in the same place again.
Good luck!0
