We use Cat's Best Nature Gold. It's a wood pellet type litter. Tracks a little but is a lot less dusty than Cat's Best Oko Plus. We use it in a hooded litter tray (with the door taken off because our cat can't figure it out!).
We had previously used Pets at Home clumping clay litter. It was awful. It stuck to the litter tray, the litter scoop, the carpet ... and the cat's paws.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
Any wood pellet based one it smells better, you don't need as much, easier to clean and I found it doesn't dry my cats paws outFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

We use Pettex, it clumps straight away so it makes it easier to scoop out so you don't waste excess. We used wilko cheapo at first but it was so dusty/chalky and didn't clump at all, total waste so we went back to Pettex which we first used over 20 years ago.0

Catsan non-clumping, the white stuff in the blue bag. My cat is fussy, he gets on with this one better than others. I tried wood pellets once but he just wouldn't use them, he pee'd on the floor instead.
Can't stand the clumping stuff, if you don't remove clumps as soon as they form, they set hard like lumps of concrete and have to be hacked out of the tray !0 -
We use oko, a natural clumping litter. If you have it around five inches deep wee and poo doesn't come into contact with the tray, so instead of emptying and cleaning the tray every few days, you simply scoop and top up.
We haven't emptied and cleaned our tray for ages, if you give it a good sniff it doesn't smell of anything, when you top up the litter it smells a little bit like hay, but it soons wears off. It can also be composted, which is handy.0 -
We use Catsan Smart Pack. It's expensive but to me it's worth it as it's so easy to use as I hate emptying and cleaning out the litter tray! This is easy as when it needs changing it all lifts out together and a new one can be placed in.0

We use standard clumping litter from Waitrose, any clumping litter would be similar.
With sufficient depth the clumps don't stick to the bottom of the tray. Our cat tends to wee right at the edge, so the clumps do often stick to the side. They are easy to dislodge with a good bang on the outside of the tray.
We remove the clumps once or twice a day, top up as needed, and wash the litter tray once a month, replacing the same litter afterwards.
Not recommended for kittens though, they might eat some, causing a blockage!0 -

Its just the clay based litters that kittens shouldn't use.0 -

We use Catsan, the clumping stuff.
I have wasted money on cheaper alternatives, but nothing comes close.0
