What do you mean by new promotions every few months? Could you kindly give an example please?
Thanks.
I mean that in a goody way, i only find Amex can out do them for customer services (ive had to deal previously with BC, Egg, Morgan Stanley and they were all poor)
In terms of promotions expect long term balance transfer offers0 -
Ironic that I come across this when I'm looking at the forum to see if MBNA are allowed to do this.
The one gripe I have with MBNA is that twice in the last year they have randomly moved my direct debit payment date forward, I get paid the last working day of every month, my direct debit was always paid 1st day of the month, in December of last year and this month MBNA claimed the direct debit on the 30th of the month for no real valid reason I could honestly point too. Can you imagine a worse month to be hit with 2 lots of credit card payments from one months salary than December? And Today is my wife's birthday and I've got about £90 less than I expected to take her shopping / to lunch with.
I'll get posters replying to this saying they put the due dates on the statements but MBNA is the only direct debit I have ever had that varied a payment forward in the month, every other company takes the same date every month or later if the due date falls on weekend / bank holiday.
So IMO MBNA are a Nay.0 -

As far as im aware a few months back MBNA change there system so that billing cuts off around the 13th of the month and is then claimed by DD on the last working day of the month unless its a bank holiday in which case its on the closest working day.
However as a side issue MBNA arent the only ones that do this Barclaycard and Halifax do similar from experience.0 -
I am a big fan of MBNA. However the only annoying thing is if you want to pay manually rather wait for the direct debit to be collected their system will still go ahead and action the dd. With Lloyds and Barclaycard the dd is cancelled for the particular month the manual payment is made.
Other than that I have no issues.0 -
Here's another plus for MBNA - I think ...
Whenever I use MBNA for an online purchase it doesn't force me to sign up to the ridiculous, insecure, unwanted, useless Verified by Visa garbage. Apparently you are "automatically enrolled" in VbV, but I'm not 100% sure what they mean by that. So long as I'm not forced to "enrol" myself and then enter yet another password for every use of the card, I'm happy.0
