Hey guys, my mother is trying to add my name on to the coucil tax bill to show that I financially contibutes to the house but when she phoned them they said they can't due to it being private property, which she owns. Is this correct? As I am aware of other people being able to do this.
Thanks for any information you guys can give me.

No idea why you'd want to do this.
Do you live at the property? Does your mother live there alone? Does she claim Single Person Discount?
Only one name is listed as liable for CT paymet.0 -
I am in the forces and live at the house on weekends and the military help with the travel expense but they need my name on the council tax and one utility bill and my mother lives here with her husband.0

You'll need to explain to the MOD expences people that the property where you live is not in your name. This cannot be the first time they've met this situation!
Offer them bank statements (I assume you use your mother's address for your banks?), and/or HMRC Tax Returns and/or DVLA etc etc
You could also post on the Forces board here to see if others have found a solution.
Or try:
