Out tomorrow visiting my Mom and on Sunday off to the Christmas Gift Fair.

Aldi day for me today - see what bargains they have.

One thing I am not too good at doing is remembering to use the cashback sites when I order anything online - this is one thing I must improve on.

So who is going to be going shopping in the Black Friday Sales?

I am not there is nothing that I need at the moment and so my money will stay firmly in my purse.

I suppose they are good if you have to buy a lot for Christmas. The New Year sales will be along soon.

Good Luck to those venturing out for a bargain today - hope you get what you want and do not get too pushed about in the stampede.

I may take a look at the Apple website today but am firmly of the opinion that Black Friday is a mechanism to put retailers in the black!

Eta: thats 5 minutes of my life I'm not going to get back!

I am firmly of the opinion that 'Black Friday is a very cleverly thought out marketing ploy, perpetrated on the gullible public.It ensures that the companies involved, definitely get a great deal of cash flow into their bank accounts (which means in the Black), and leave the shoppers with bank accounts in the (Red) !!

Another US trend that this country can well do without along with Thanksgiving and Trick or Treating and 'Internships', which mean young people work unpaid for at least a year with no actual guarantee of a proper paid job at the end of it Definitely a case of 'Rip off Britain'

oh the joys of clearing out the fridge to find enough veggies for a pot luck soup, lunches for pennies. delicious!! also prepped and frozen 3 bags of ys parsnips, and have a ys gammon shank in sc to strip for the ham in pea and ham soup for another day. and have baked a fruit loaf, so it smells like heaven here this morning!! spoke to dd on phone last night and she was shocked i spend £80 a month on shopping, just the 2 of us. she thinks she spends around £400!!! just the 2 of them and 3 grandchildren, aged 8,7 and 3!!! im in shock as that seems such alot of money, so have agreed to try and guide her abit!! xx

Morning Everyone,

Well I did not buy anything from the Black Friday sales. I am looking for some warm trousers, found some and they would have had a good discount on them - but they were out of stock.

I have put up my Christmas Tree and decorations, I always put them up the nearest weekend to the 1st December , not sure if I will be about much next weekend so got them up this weekend.

Now just cards and presents to sort out. Most of presents are money gifts.

Thanks for starting this thread. I've come on to the MSE forums tonight looking for some info on food budgeting and came across your thread.
I'm interested in the reusable towels if someone has a link to the business in Wales mentioned?
I am a huge fan of Lidl also and now do nearly all my food shopping there. I feel they are making a huge effort with their ranges of food whereas the big 4 supermarkets I now find uninspiring and not value for money.
