Praise for Argos

I was peeved to find that the tablet that I bough from Argos had been reduced by another £20 within a week. So I contacted Argos helpers via Twitter and cheekily asked if they could offer any reimbursement. I didn't really expect any joy but they agreed to send me a cheque for half the difference (£10.50). Nothing ventured etc etc. 😁

why did you not return it under their 14 day (or whatnot) return clause and then simply re buy it £20 cheaper ?
I suspect the £10.50 refund was to stop you doing thisSave a Rachael

Whoops! Not that good after all, a praise turns into a vent.0

Already used it.. So not sure about rights.. More interested in getting them to offer a goodwill gesture0

I reserved a cheap tablet but when I went in to collect it had gone up £20 so I said I didn't want it. This is covered by the reservation terms but they still decided to knock the £20 back off and I bought it.
I've always found Argos to be fair. They are not always cheapest of course but their return policy is still often the deal maker for me.0 -
I bought something online when they were offering £10 voucher when you spend £100. I received email from argos with a code that supposed to take £10 off my next purchase. So I tried but didnt work. I contacted argos via email but no reply was received. So I never buy things online now when theres voucher to receive.0

They have some excellent clearance offers on toys, at the moment. Several 'singing' songbird, penguin, owl and dinosaur toys (£2.99 to £4.99) are less than half price and I got two My Little Pony toys for £4.98, which were originally two for £15.0 -
Not a fan but I tend to get quite a lot of Argos vouchers and I do like the way they show previous lowest prices on items. "Please note item ***** has previously been on sale at 299.99."0

I thought Argos always gives you the full difference back because you could always return it and buy it again. So why did they only give you half?0
