Strange pop up

Hi, hope someone can help. I'm using an android phone, and just suddenly tonight whenever I unlock the phone to go to the homepage or onto an app a pop up keeps appearing saying my recent apps, and then goes onto show a full screen advert after showing my resume apps. It's really annoying, I don't want to see what my recent apps are and definitely don't want pop up ads appearing. I haven't downloaded anything new to the phone. Any ideas how to get rid of thus. Can't find anything within my apps that is causing this either.

Just to add, phone is a go clever quantum something or other. Only had it a few months and the phone is a piece of crap to be fair.

You could use free security to do a scan I guess. Sorry I don't have any other suggestions. I am sure someone will. You can get avg from the play store for free.you could look at the settings to see if they are as they should be on your phone. You could also delete the cache. Also look through each section on file commander to see if there is anything dodgy there. Of course it could just be that you have a setting in an app that allows pop up ads. So you may just need to change that.

Cr*pware is generally getting smarter, and no longer activates immediately - could be something you installed a couple of weeks ago.

Battery apps are particularly commonly just advertising platforms, for instance, and serve no purpose.

My suggestion is (assuming you are using google drive, photos, contacts etc) is to go into the settings and let the device clean reset to factory image. You can then reinstall the useful apps, and avoid any potential dodgies.

BTW I'd never heard of the brand, looking at reviews I can see why. Technically fill the spec of "Android Phone"in the same way that you could build a new Austin Allegro cheaply, but it would still be nothing but disappointment and rust.

Dont bother downloading any "security" programs on your phone.
They are ALL total snake oil .

Your problem here is a malicious app. Most likely one that you have not downloaded intentionally.
But i guarentee you this is the case.

Look through your APP list, scumware like this usually hides as a "system update" with a cog wheel for its icon.
Just be brutal and remove anything you are even a tiny bit unsure about.
Eventually you will find the culprit - clear its data, then uninstall it - and everything will be back to normal.

Just to say again, you most definately do not need an antivirus on your phone (possibly maybe if it is rooted).
I know we tend to use them as such, but they are not "little computers" and their operating systems work in a very different way to windows
