Can I get travel insurance for an infant only ?

Does anyone know of any insurance companys that can provide standard travel insurance for an infant only ?

Me, my girlfriend and our 18 month old daughter are going to Florida in 3 weeks time.

Me and my girlfriend will be skydiving out there (its our hobby), therefore we have had to puchase ACTIVITY travel insurance that covers us for skydiving.

There arent that many insurance companies that cover skydiving and we have used Endsleigh in the past.

Endsleigh's standard travel insurance policys cover children under 2 free of charge when an adult purchases the insurance.

However, the problem with Endsleigh's ACTIVITY insurance policy is that the only options when selecing the age is either under 16's or over 16's.

If we selected under 16 for our daughter it means that our daughter would be covered under the ACTIVITY insurance which is more expensive.

At the moment only me and my girlfriend are on the ACTIVITY policy which costs a total of £150 (£75 each).

To put our daughter on the policy would cost another £40 to £50 and she would be covered for skydiving and other hazardous sports !

What we need is a STANDARD travel insurance for our daughter, but 't Endsleigh won't insure an infant by themselves - they have to be insured with an adult (in which case under 2's are free).

When I have used Endsleigh in the past I purchased the insurance over the phone and asked them if my daughter would be covered under just me and my girlfriends ACTIVITY policy - both times they said she was.

Its only when purchasing insurance for this trip that they said they 'think' she is covered and they would get back to me to confirm.

So I still went ahead and purchased the policy for just me and my girlfriend.

They never got back to me so I rang them just to check.

It was then when I was told that under 2 year olds are not covered for free under the ACTIVITY policy, only the STANDARD policy.

To cover her I would need to pay for her as an under 16 year old, in which case she would be covered for hazardous sports so it would be more expensive.

On our last 2 trips when we used Endsleigh for our ACTIVITY insurance we were told that our daughter was covered... when in fact she wasnt.

Its lucky we never had to make a claim on her behalf !
