I have a 3 PAYG sim in an Apple I-Phone 5 and when I have used up the data allowance it doesn't allow me to text out mobile texts BUT when I try it in an Android smartphone I CAN do so!!!!
Is there a way of breaking this link of data allowance linked to receiving and sending texts on the I-Phone or is it a trait I merely have to put up with and live with???
It's annoying that I-Phones rely on data allowance of a PAYG credit to send out texts (unlike Android smartphones which don't and you can therefore use what's left to text out even when your data allowance is used up).
Does anyone know of a way to break this link when your data allowance is used up, or is it something all I-Phone users must put up with?

go to settings => messages
and turn off the imessage feature.
This will force the unit to send as sms instead of imessages (which use your data)
You will see your messages housed in a green bubble instead of the usual grey, indicating SMS0 -
Just done it, thank you!!!!0
