Hi All,
I've just received this PCN from Parking eye while working as a locum doctor on a night shift at Macclesfield Hospital. I rushed in to see poorly patients and literally had no other time to come out and pay. But the story is somewhat irrelevant. Please see the photo of the PCN. I literally received it in the mail yesterday (23/08). Parking occurred on the 03/08, they issued it on the 09/08 but then there's a date of 18/08 which is 14 days after. Do I have grounds to appeal this (as well as the signage etc) as I didn't even have time to consider paying the reduced charge.

Also to add, I've spoken with the hospital PALS and facilities team...they basically just said to appeal to Parking Eye and claim they have nothing to do with cancelling PCN's. I know this is false but there's only so much I can do with them at this point0

Of course they can get the ticket cancelled, they took them on.
So, as a Doc, thinking about going abroad ?0 -
we have had many complaints about this hospital and parking issues
the trsust is jointly and severally liable for the actions of its agents and also fails to meet the NHS guidelines issued by HUNT 2 years ago and reisterated and amended 9 months ago, others have told them this too
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles
hit them with it and burn them if they do not cancel
use the blue text appeal in the newbies sticky to appeal it on their website
then take it to popla , include the fact it failed to arrive by day 15 (despite the timings) so fails POFA2012, plus no contract , poor signage , dissimilar to Beavis and the other usual appeal points from 2016 popla appeals on here0 -
If the PCN is dated 18th August for an alleged breach on 3rd August, it would fail to meet the strict conditions of POFA 2012 and Parking Eye would not be able to transfer liability from the unnamed driver to the keeper. Does the PCN refer to the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 at all?
The thread below from PePiPoo regarding Macclesfield hospital makes interesting reading. Post 27 gives the name of John Wilbraham as PALS head of department at this hospital who has previously cancelled at least one PCN. . Please don't be fobbed off by someone in facilities who obviously can't be bothered assisting a Doctor who put poorly patients first. The thread also includes photos of the signage on site, and a redacted copy of Parking Eye's contract with East Cheshire NHS (the unredacted contract that was linked in post 17 has been removed, but there are several comments regarding its content)

AFAIR, ParkingEye's contract at this trust is being cancelled in October. When you go back, see if the will a) confirm this and b) ask why as it may be relevant to your case. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
