POPLA appeal nearly a year nothing.

So i need advice on a popla appeal i have ongoing, so the ticket date back to late 2014, the popla appeal started around the same date. Anyway my appeal was pending subject to parkingeye vs beavis appeal.

Anyway I received an email on 02/10/15 this email stated my appeal is adjourned to a provisional date for determination of Monday 9 November 2015. since then i have received nothing at all. nor have a received anything from armtrac security services.

Anyway the ticket is still on the armtrac security services website showing as unpaid. I have also tried entering my popla appeal number on the popla website and nothing shows up.

Any advice ? Or have any events resulted in a backlog that i am still in ?

This will now be being dealt with by Wright Hassall (that's not a joke!) Solicitors who have been contracted by the BPA to deal with these cases which were 'left behind' when the previous POPLA provider (London Councils) did not renew their contract with the BPA.

The new provider of POPLA (The Ombudsman Service) were not prepared to pick up this rump of unresolved appeals, around 4,000 in number.

WH (now colloquially known by the forums as WHOPLA) is working through the pile. As cases come to the top, appellants receive a notification that their case is due to be assessed and they are given 14 days to forward any further comments. I'm not sure whether there is any way of checking where you are in the pile.

I have to warn you that decisions coming out of WHOPLA are generally disappointing.

Do a forum search here and on PePiPoo using 'WHOPLA' as your search term.

How did you find out that letters were sent out in April?

If that is the case, your original appeal will almost certainly have been adjudicated. If it was turned down (but we don't know that at the moment), ordinarily you will have been receiving a flurry of debt collector letters by now.

Any reason that you can think of why you didn't receive the WHOPLA letters? Have you moved address? Did WHOPLA email and possibly the email ended up in your junk/spam folder?

I would take no action, it seems some cases fell between the cracks of 'POPLA brands' (awful BPA term) so until you get a letter from WH off their own bat, DO NOT prompt anyone. You certainly do not want to prod the wasp's nest at Armtrac.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I agree , there are times in life when INACTION is appropriate and this is one of them

the OP may want closure, but I would say let it "time out" or have "fallen through the cracks"

My case, from Feb 2015, was sorted this week (in my favour! :j) so they are getting through them.
Just sit tight and see what happens.

Possibly, but we're into crystal ball territory now. Take Coupon-mad's advice in post #5 and the same from Redx in #7 - there's not much else you can do meantime.

If you've heard nothing from WHOPLA or the PPC, it's pretty certain it's not yet been adjudicated. Only time will tell. I'm not sure what more we can say at this stage. We're all guessing.
