Andy are you looking for the girl of your dreams (sorry for the pun), I think that it will just happen when you are not actually looking. I think that being friends is a really good start, someone with similar interests. I have been married for more years than I thought possible, how he puts up with me, I don't know. I agree with some previous advice on here, join a group. The Thespian Art is great fun (Drama, before anyone starts). Good luck.

By chance. On a dating website. I;d not long split from an ex, didn;t really have my head in the dating game but reactivated my profiles to try and get some closure and start a fresh. Randomly was checking my email (which i rarely do, i think i have about 30,000 unread emails :rotfl: ) but that night i checked. Saw i had a message on POF. Checked it out. We got talking and 18 months on are very happily together. he is honestly my soul mate. \hes perfect for me in every single way right down to the little details. I never ever thought i'd meet someone i matched with so perfectly. I had all but given up. I didn;t know back then how much my life would change and how much better it could be, but i do now.

Go to events, workshops, places you like and get speaking to people. Ask for their number. Get out the house. i don't agree that online dating is the way to go... make that connection face to face!
