Wireless Network Adapter

My old Marantz CD65 CD player has finally given up the ghost after 20 odd years of faithful service. Perhaps reflective of my generation I still like to play physical CDs now and again through my hi-fi separates system (Arcam Amp, Rega turntable, Wharfdale speakers etc.) so thought a quick trip to Richer Sounds and £150 would suffice for a straight replacement with reasonable sound quality (I’m not really an audiophile but I can tell the difference between good and bad sound reproduction).
Whilst I do still like having and owning physical music I’m not that much of a luddite as to not have an extensive collection of digital music too (much of which is ripped from CD but a large proportion which is simply downloaded).
Whilst researching potential CD player replacements I came across this …the Yamaha CDN 301
http://www.richersounds.com/product/cd-players/yamaha/cdn301/yama-cdn301-blk
which obviously appealed as a two in one machine which would also allow me to stream music from my tablet/laptop/PC to my hi-fi set up as well as replacing my CD player. It’s not brand new tech but it is the most competitively priced machine of its kind and the reviews are pretty good. Great stuff….
Now my question
It’s not possible for me to run a cable from my router (even though it’s only at the other end of a long room). Yamaha very kindly cater for this and sell a handy network wireless adapter, namely the YWA -10.
http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/accessories/wireless-accessories/ywa-10_w/?mode=model
Whilst I was more than prepared to stretch my initial budget to £200 to cover the Yamaha player I was horrified to find that this network adapter costs an additional£60-£70 on top. Plus having read quite a few reviews the performance appears to be quite patchy and seems to leave much to be desired.
Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative to this adapter?
It needs to be small (concealable behind the CD player or at least unobtrusive if it sits on top) and presumably USB powered. Having googled “YWA-10 alternatives” the only stuff I could find was either from USA or related to other old wireless network items that are no longer available. I have found stuff like this on ebay/amazon
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0050AI804/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003D0WZKC&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=DYTR0Q6Z28F1Y1D8YMS6
Would this work????
Any/all suggestions welcome before I invest.
Thanks
P.S. before anyone suggests homeplugs I’m afraid they’re not an option either

Hi
I think so. Providing the USB can provide enough power, and the position of the tranmitter is not compromised.
It is a "Home Plug" kind of solution, taking power and ethernet and giving a wifi output. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'd say you're on the right track, when I read your post I was thinking of something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007PTCFFW/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i2_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=69DNRJRBQDD96RVHDM5T&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=026d359a-cb34-4790-9249-ec9f152ee8e2&pf_rd_i=desktop
It's much the same as you posted in that it's a USB powered ethernet to wireless bridge although with it being a more known model you may find more information on it. I did actually buy one to set up a wireless bridge when my homeplugs were misbehaving but never got around to it.

Many thanks.... purchased the Yamaha CD and the TPlink router from your post. All arrived yesterday. Set it up last night and works brilliantly.
Now just gotta get a premium spotify account (or maybe not).0
