Driver licence issue date changed after address change.
I have my driver license for more than 3 years, but around 1.5 years ago I moved house and notified DVLA about address change, they sent me a new card and the 4.a point in it had changed to the date they issued this new card apparently.
I didn't pay much attention to it at that point, but now I want to rent a car (already booked and paid) and I've noticed that the rental company requires to have a valid licence for more than 2 years.
My new licence card has issue date less than 2 years ago. Can that be a problem? How can I prove do the rental company that I've had the license for more than 2 years?
Thanks!
Zak.

What's the date on the back of the card?0 -
There should be a "Valid From" date for each category on the back of the licence.
They're not always accurate either, so check now!0 -
Oh, just had a closer look at the categories table on the back of the card and it has correct dates (May 2013) in Valid from (position 10). I guess that's fine then, although looks a bit contradictory to me.
Thanks Silver-Surfer and Car 54!

The issue date is the date THAT photocard was issued. When it expires after 10yrs from the initial issue (the expiry isn't reset by a change of address), then the replacement will have a new issue date on it - again, the date that card was issued.
The dates on the back are the dates your entitlements for the various classes of vehicles started - they're the ones that the hire car want to be at least two years earlier.0 -
It'd be contradictory if it wasn't.

Now that I think about different categories might have different valid from dates it makes sense!

Once you reach 70, your driving licence is always less than three years old!
But, on the back, mine says valid from '<15.7.80'.0
