Self adhesive vinyl flooring??

Looking at buying some self adhesive vinyl planks or tiles for the kitchen, got some in homebase that are reasonable, but we live in a housing assoc. house and we are not allowed to remove the safety floor(yuk) stuff that we have down, but these tiles say you have to remove all existing flooring before fitting. Is it a waste of money even trying, would it stick, don't know just how sticky they are
. A large piece of vinyl is too expensive as its quite a big area(15 sq metres ish) but pretty desperate to put something else down. Thanks

We used some about 6 years ago and they were truly awful.
I have no idea what they are like now, but I'd try to save for something a bit more decent than end up having to take the stuff up.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Most of that type of flooring is supplied by a company called WESTCO !
Most of their products are crap.0 -

I fitted some in a kitchen and a bathroom about eight years ago. They were from Wickes and I thought they were very good, easy to lay and stayed stuck despite heavy use.0

I had them in my kitchen laid straight onto an asphalt floor. They were down for about 5 years and I never had any problems - B&Q budget range, in fact they stuck so well they were a nightmare to get up when we changed the floor!0

I used Homebase own brand... they looked a bit like slate with a slight texture to them. I was House Doctoring my old flat kitchen and on a very tight budget and I thought they were good. Did the job, sold the flat...0
