Now sitting down and having a bit of lunch. The parsnip soup I made yesterday is lovely and spicy. I added some ginger to it as I find it rather sweet normally. Mind you the 'ready ginger' I found in my drawer had a UBD of July 2012 but was unopened, I decided that it looked fine and was only a spice!

My morning has been filled with paperwork. I am the PVG person for the local footie club and they now need seven people checked so I've been sorting out the forms and compiling what should be an idiot's guide about completing them but it's run to four pages. Most of it's straightforward to do but complicated to read. I'll drop off the forms to the chair tomorrow and have arranged an ID evening for next week. That'll be fun.

Now I have to attend to a couple of my uni students who are requesting extensions. The one who has done no work online at all since last Sept has no chance of it being granted but I will process it anyway.

Sun hasn't exactly come out, it's more like the cloud has gone. It's still and warm'ish.

I did a little spending spree on E*ay last night on a couple of old items I've had my eye on for a while. Still can't really justify buying them apart from 'it's my money' - does that count?

The cava which I ordered last week is delicious, much nicer than Presecco which I find rather harsh and acid on my tongue so I'm really pleased as it's much nicer and much cheaper.

I've just read about meanmarie's new addition - congratulations! That's almost a team you have there, so delightful.

I managed to tidy a kitchen cupboard and used the new wire shelves to neaten things up. I also tidied the downstairs bathroom cabinet and want to scrub out the big wardrobe in the garage to use for storage of cleaning materials etc.

Had low fat sausages and pickles for lunch and putting the rest in a lidded container in the fridge and defrosting chicken for tomorrow.
SIL is popping round for a bite to eat while DD is away on business so might buy some mushrooms and make a curry or risotto dish.

You are so busy you are going to meet yourself coming back. ;)

I did not know you had a blog :j but I am sorry you had such an unpleasant experience. I got something similar on an American site when I mentioned a severe health problem and was accused of being a liar because health practice was different in America(obviously everything has to be identical to the USA )
Another member of the site was vilified because gun laws in New York were very different from the state she was in.

Nipping to the local shop before someone calls round to drop off a book for DD.

    Hugs to all

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Just enjoying 5 minutes peace and quiet as the girls are still asleep and hubby has just left for the doctors to collect a sick note for another week off work. I'm trying not to worry as it won't change the outcome but it is difficult.

The sun is shining and I have heard from my eldest daughter that she is having a wonderful time on her honeymoon. They are off to Margate today and apparently the weather there is very good too.
I have seen lots of photos from the wedding and they just look so happy in them it makes my heart happy too.

I haven't got much planned for today, the house is fairly tidy and the washing is done, it just needs to be put away. I might see if DD15 wants to get the sewing machine out again to make some more bags.

DD16 is going out with her friends this evening. She is getting more and more nervous about her GSCE results this week. She wants to go with her friend to pick them up and then they are going to a birthday party the day after so that is a lot of socialising for her. She showed me a bald spot she has on the back of her head from where she pulls her hair, she is quite upset about it so she is going to make a conscious effort to leave her hair alone as she feels uncomfortable putting it up now.

Anyway, hubby has just returned so I will be off. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

It's a lovely day indeed Dumpling, I live 3 miles from Margate and it's so hot now.

Hi Chums we all had a fabulous day on Yaverland Beach,DD has gone a beautiful shade of mid- conker :):).The boys all swam in the sea and I was quite happy to sit and read my book and sip from my mammoth flask of coffee. We are off to Shanklin Beach tomorrow for the day as the forcast is 27c, but it will apparently cool down by the evening with perhaps a bit if a thunder and lightening by nightfall.

There is nothing quite like an old-fashioned sea-side resort when the weather is good.Sand in your toes, and a cornet in your hand I'm easily pleased :):):)

Amazing sunset tonight looking across the channel, nature at its best

Lainey what a nasty person you have to work with, some people have no thought for what your coping with, sending virtual hugs honey

Csarina ignore the nasties as well, we are here all thinking of you, it is a stupid expression 'bed-blocking' as though you are being perversly ill.I'm sure your OH would rather be up and about and well

Hugs to those who are in need,I shall have a word with the Big Guy tonight and remember you all

    Take care everyone

    JackieO xx
