Can I claim Income Support without having to phone?

I have Pulsatile Tinnitus in my right ear and constantly have a ear plug as I can't tolerate any noise. Now my left ear is going the same way and using the phone leaves my ear hissing like crazy. How else could I make a claim?

You can get text phones which enables you to both write your message and read what the other person is saying, commonly used by those with hearing impairments so you will be able to use one to claim if it cannot be done just with forms.

Where would I get one of these? I think it may be a waste though just to make one call. Its a very good idea though :-)

Places like amazon, specialist disability aid shops have them too, your local job centre should also have one available to people who are hearing impaired.

It is quicker to phone but there is also a claim form you can complete and send by post to your local job centre plus.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Oh I didn't think of that. I'll check tomorrow :-) Doesn't the job centre do claim forms anymore or is it all telephone now?
