Insurance and change of title

Quick query - my parents separated 3 years ago and I have been helping my mum with insurance quotes. They havent divorced but I think my understanding is correct in that they are 'separated'. Does anyone know and will it make a difference to her insurance as she still uses married. Thanks.

If the insurers ask and offer the option of "separated" then she has to answer truthfully. I dont imagine it will make any difference, but, as always, shop around.0
