Praise for Airport parking assistant.

Just got back from a 2 week holiday, having pre-paid for 15 days parking at Manchester airport long stay car park at a cost of £56.
Not taking enough notice of the signs at the airport I parked up on the multi storey and happily want on hol.
On my return I inserted my token at the barrier to be told pay £600 by CC or DC. Immediately realised what I'd done and thought oh !!!!!!.
Was after just after midnight, so quite quiet, I pressed the help button. A chap answered, I explained my mistake. At this point he could have said "Tough, you're mistake."
However, he told me to hang on a minute whilst he would see what he could do.
His solution was to tell me that rather than paying the daily rate of £40, he would set the system so that it was this car park I had pre paid, at a cost of £169, then deduct the £56 I had paid, leaving me to pay £113.
I thought this was brilliant seeing how it was entirely my fault.
Won't make same mistake again!

It's probably easier to charge a customer the prebooked price of a car park and get the money there and then as opposed to going through a legal case to try and enforce the £600 charge.

Dunno, but I'm pretty sure it was legit. because he did say that it was the best he could do within the constraints he had.

It's very common for holiday makers to park in the wrong car park. A few months ago I parked in the long stay at Gatwick North, when I returned to my car late at night I found my battery flat, so called the RAC. Since they were going to be a couple of hours, I walked back to the parking reception to keep warm. Whilst sat there for 90 minutes or so (and this was 1 in the morning, so not that many cars leaving), there must have been 5 or 6 people who had parked in the wrong car park. Without exception the attendant left them out without having to pay anything further.
