Problems with new car
A bit of collective advice needed..
Car is a 11 month old Vauxhall Vectra, still under manufacturers warranty.
After six months, the radio frequently had two second interruptions, and the front wipers failed completely.
This was fixed under warranty, and took about a week to fix - they provided a Zafira whilst it was being fixed.
However, almost immediately, the back wiper stopped working, along with the washers, and the radio again started having interruptions.
It was serviced last week, and we asked them to fix the rear wiper and radio under warranty. After a week, they advised that they couldn't trace the problem and would speak to Vauxhall.
They've now said that they would have to strip the electrics back and replace everything until the problem was fixed - However, they cannot do it for a month, and will only offer a Corsa during the repair, as it is not safety critical.
What are your views - Should we press for an equivalent car, or should we accept the Corsa for a week? What happens if they still don't fix it?
Any thoughts?

Have the front washers failed?
If so its illegal to drive the car.0 -
It shouldn't make any difference to them what car they provide! If it's a month away then surely they have the time to book out a vehicle that fits your needs!
It's not your fault that the electrics are faulty. I'd be very polite and act like they are doing you a favour when you ask for a bigger car. Manipulation works, LOL!
I drive BMW 1 series and have had a couple fo minor warranty repairs and a service now and I still get some smashing cars to drive as courtesy vehicles. The courtesy cars act as sales tools themselvesEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If you can manage with a Corsa, you might just as well take it.
If you NEED a bigger car, explain this & they'll find one, I'm sure!
& as mentioned, if you have defective FRONT wipers/washers, these ARE safety issues & also items which can result in fixed penaly notices, from any keen eyed Police officer.

Regrettably, it is just the back washers that have failed (now)... Previously it was the front ones, but they fixed them (only for a failure on the back ones!)..
I will push for a bigger car - Yes we could cope with a Corsa for a week, but if I had wanted a Corsa, I would have bought one, and have a Vectra as we appreciate the bigger car!Andy Corbett0 -
Dunno if this is of any use...
