Friend did blackberry vodka last year with some that i'd picked. It's good. So I'd assume gin would work fine.

I've picked plenty on dog walks already this year despite someone passing me saying 'there's hardly any yet'.

Mine are frozen in one lump as it's going to be jelly or cordial most likely and I really don't have space to put a tray of individual berries in the freezer just now.

I did blackberry vodka as well, excellent stuff for warming liquer like nip at Christmas

The wild berries around here are coming along nicely, seem to be spread of ripening I assume variety has a lot to do wth it

My thornless one in the garden is nearly over now, huge berries on it, eaten raw with splodge of yoghurt & honey

This is the first year I've been in London so I need to go and investigate the local green spaces to see what I can forage... I need to make more blackberry whisky!

I've filled 2 freezer drawers so far and I haven't really been "trying"!

The only ones without fruit are the 2 thorn free ones on my allotment. :-/

a LARGE bramble has slowly been colonising my garden! DH wants rid of it, but loves blackberries :0) a few ripening now, but 100's turning red.

lots just turning red on the bushes in the park :0)

I was going to make jam, then discovered all of last years jam in the cupboard still!

i'll just freeze them in bagfulls - enough each time for either a crumble or smoothies :0)

The children love blackberrying so we will be fitting it in sometime in the near future, they are eating the ones they find as we are out and about already.
We generally use them in porridge so i freeze in a bag and give the bag a bash to release the amount needed.

Great idea, cheaper than frozen blueberries and ready for when I make the move from muesli to porridge. I love that the wild blackberries are ripe but those carefully tended on an allotment are lagging behind. I can SO relate to that

Yeah the brambles in the garden are being allowed to fruit then chopped back.

No bramble jelly left sadly, was all used for wedding favours and I tried to do cordial last year instead
