Just saved £110 on house insurance

I use a local insurance broker firm, and they always look for the best value policy for insurance. Came up with a £110 saving this year, £230 instead of £340 for my house buildings and contents.
They do the same with my car insurance.
I used to do all the comparison web sites an phone around the age related ones like Saga and I could never beat my broker. That was in the early days, now I don't bother because I'm happy they always get their customers a good deal.
So my top tip if you want to save some money use your local broker. Use the one without a flash office because you'll be paying for that.
Cheers fj

£230..... that's a bit expensive.
My best price was £139 with £120 cashback making net price of £19.
However of late it's usually been in the region of £114 with £84 cashback making net price of £30.
The highest net price I have ever paid is £59.0 -

That's not a particularly helpful response. Home Insurance depends on both the Proposer's details and the risk they are insuring. Your details may be old and 'perfect' in the eyes of insurers, and your house may be far smaller than the one the OP's insuring.
His helpful steer on using local Brokers is a good one. Insurers value 'high street business' from local Brokers with reasonable commission and good local knowledge, over business from the mainstream 'superbrokers', and/or aggregator business where insurers struggle to make money.0
