Cancelled Car Insurance

Hi..
I'm after a bit of advice,
I took out a policy with e-sure on 11th August for car insurance, I decided to go with them as they were the cheapest on CTM. I've just received a text and email advising my policy has been cancelled due to several changes made whilst getting quotes. So I've obviously rang them asking for more information as I've never been in this position before, the woman on the phone told me they had cancelled it as I'd put in another address whilst getting quotes. I'm looking to move out of my current address at the end of the year and wanted to see how much it would effect the price so I could factor in that cost in my budget. She then said as that was the reason and I'd lived at my current address for two years she would change the cancellation to mutual and I wouldn't need to declare it in future, I've asked for this in writing because I don't want a back lash of it.
So I was just wondering what you guys would do in the future as I don't want it to have put a black mark on my record, I play around with quotes and know a lot of people that do to get the best price. HELP :(

As long as they supply you the letter you asked for (keep it safe for evermore) you have the evidence to show should this come up any time in the future.
Next time you play with online quotes do it anonymously!0 -
I usually get a quote for 'Fred Flintstone' and a similar address to mine however for some reason, when I use my real details, I get a much better quote?? Is that because using an anonymous name doesn't trigger with any identity checks?0
