Party Wall-Suggestion needed

Hi,
I'm building a 4 metre rear extension for the end of terrace . We have given both our neighbours party wall notice, thinking that they would agree without any issues.
One of the adjoining neighbour who we share a wall with, came back to us saying they want to get an agreed surveryor. We understand their concerns as the house is completely attached and they wanted to have peace of mind.
However the other side of the neighbour who we share a fence with, appoints there own surveyor without even speaking to us or informing us of his decision. That surveryor looks to be a con artist and he is trying to charge us 1250+VAT.
What can we do in this matter as this is costing us both time and money.
These surveyors just scan through planning applications and send the neighbours letters, which the nutty neighbours like mine take it up without any discussion with an intention to delay the work.

I dont think their is a lot you can do, they do have the right to appoint any surveyor they want, at your cost im afraid as its you that wants to extend.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0

Can't you ask them to find another surveyor? That is a HUGE amount of money for that work!0

It would have been a good idea to talk to your neighbours before hand to nip this kind of thing in the bud.
I would speak to your neighbours about your concerns letting them know you have no issues with them appointing their own surveyor if they so wish but warn them that these are ambulance chasers and they might like to find a reputable company to represent their property.
If they can't/don't/won't then send a letter to both saying you will not be going ahead with the works at the present time. Then once all surveyors are cancelled you can review the situation!0
