Sunday in Rome - are places, restaurants etc open?

Looked at my itinerary for my holiday in Italy next month.

Now discovered my day of leisure in Rome in on the Sunday. I bet many places are shut or offer silly opening hours such as 2:30pm-5pm, like Seville did when I was there last September on a Sunday.

Then eating places? I will be staying a couple of mins walk from the Manzoni metro station. Eating breakfast at the hotel.

Of course restaurants will be open, they like to eat in Rome as well even on a Sunday!!
Other attractions could be 50/50 but should mainly be open.
    Have a good time!

Everywhere is open but a few attractions close a couple of hours earlier than in the rest of the week.

I was last in Rome on a Sunday in March last year. We stayed at the Radisson Blu over by Roma Termini station. We had breakfast at Panella l'Arte del Pane on Largo Leopardi, walked over to Santa Maria Maggiore, then to Villa Medici (amazing panoramic views) and Villa Borghese.

Along the route, all the delis, cafes and incredible sandwich shops were open. The parks around Villa Borghese were busy with street performers and locals having picnics with their family. The Galleria Borghese did close slightly earlier when we were there.

From there, we went back past Villa Medici and down the Spanish Steps, then over to Piazza del Popolo at sunset. All the shops along the route were open at 4-5pm.

We walked own the Tiber to see the Trevi Fountains at night, and really took our time along the route. We got really lost around Palazzo Colonna, but found the lovely little Theatre Cafe and only got back to our hotel at 11pm, exhausted.
