Hoping someone can help me please, am finding this all too confusing:(
Need to cut my costs down...
Don't use a home phone but appreciate I probably need a landline cost.
Happy to cut tv channels to minimal but would like sky and bt sports,
Need a decent enough broadband as I sometimes work from home, but have no need to downoad movies, music etc.
Here's what I currently pay with Virgin. Am I best to stick with them ? Change to Sky with the MSE offer or split items between various suppliers ? Really appreciate any help ! Tia

Just so you know, I work from home with 6meg down 0.8meg up and can screenshare/video call. I don't need to send or recieve large files though.
Use the address checker here http://www.dslchecker.bt.com to see what speeds a provider using the Openreach network can provide.
You might be better off switching to BT and either getting their TV with Sport and Sky Sports (if you can get fibre to the cab). Or switch to sky and take their TV using the code or possible top cashback (definitely use tcb if you switch to BT).0 -
Ring up. Say you want to leave because of cost.
Happy to ditch TV and go to 50mb Bb and phone.0 -
What /do/ you use to make phone calls?
Be aware that VM's Anytime calls package costs £8 per month and covers calls to:
- geographic numbers starting 01 and 02
- non-geographic numbers starting 03
- mobile numbers starting 071-075 and 077-079.
This may be cheaper than whatever it is that you currently use for those types of calls.0 -

If you are desperate to cut costs but need internet for work, then the obvious action is to cancel paid for tv, as it is a luxury.
Your add-ons, alone, cost more than my tv (Sky Original), line rental ,Anytime Plus calls and broadband, though the latter is only ADSL.0 -
Thanks all for you replies.
I only use my mobile now so Talk Weekends may as well go.
Happy to go down to basic TV now, daughter paying for additional sports.
Internet speed is pretty chap so need to look at that but may not need as good as I thought.
So, basic TV, landline only, decent broadband and sports chanels. What ya reckon? £60 ish?0 -
I think Talk Weekends is the basic (M) package? Don't think you will save anything lowering it.
I thought your BB was top speed package0 -
You said you don't use a home phone, so why do you need a landline? I thought Virgin provided broadband without a landline.0

They do. But it's hardly any cheaper !0
