Hi All,
I was knocked off my motorbike in on the 23rd of December last year and unfortunately broke my arm. I was coming down a bus lane and the driver pulled into my lane without checking his mirrors. There was a police officer closely behind me on a motorbike who witnessed the whole incident and has said he would be willing to act as a witness. The other party admitted fault immediately and my solicitors have also had a confirmation letter admitting liability.
I needed to have an ORIF op on xmas eve and had my arm in a sling/cast for 8 weeks. By March my arm had still not heeled and I was told I had an infection in my bone so therefore I had to have another operation with a bigger plate and a bone graft from my wrist. Another 8 weeks in a cast 🙁
I'm a concreter by trade but luckily I've been able to go back to work as a supervisor.
Still not sure sure if and when I can go back on the tools as I've been told not to even lift my children up due to how weak my arm still may be.
Iim due back for X-rays next week to see if my arm has started to heal and if there is any progress. I'm currently doing very very light Physio work.
I received a letter on Friday from my solicitor with a cheque for £2000 as an interim payment and another letter stating that the other party had made a settlement offer of £15000 (interim included).
I have not even had a medical examination yet so my solicitors won't even tell me if this is a reasonable amount to accept or not.
Any help on this would be much appreciated

What has your solicitor advised you?0
-
They have told me that the are unable to advise me on whether or not to accept it as I have not had an independent medical ecarminative yet.0
-
Your best advice would be to follow their advice and have the independent medical.0
-
Sorry, I forgot to mention that they also said there is a chance the offer may drop after a medical.0

If your solicitor can't advise you, I can't see how we can.
It may drop as then they will know what the issue is and how long it'll last, whereas now it's all guesswork.0
