Nationwide - Limit Increase offer

Hi all,
Had a letter through from Nationwide offering me a credit limit increase.
This is an offer from them, I did not request it, for my Nationwide Select Credit Card.
As this is an offer from them, if I was to accept it, does this affect my credit score/rating? I know that if I had asked for an increase then of course they would run a check, but because they are offering, does this mean that it is simply a change on my account with no repercussions beyond?
It's interesting they've offered this to me as I am well beyond the original 0% on purchases I enjoyed over 2 years ago, I've only kept this card as a back up and always paid it off in full throughout even during 0% offer.

If you feel you need it, then accept it. Otherwise you can decline it.
The increased limit or not will then show on your credit file.0 -
My experience (around a year ago I think) was that they didn't search me, not even a 'soft search'. It may be different now of course.0

Yes. The increased limit will be recorded on your credit profile. If you use it, the higher balance will be recorded also. If you accept it but don't use it, then your credit utilisation %age would decrease.
All of these factors will have an impact on your credit score, although your score is relatively meaningless anyway.0 -
I got a letter offering increase too. Not going to bother, as i'm only using it for 0% balance transfer, and will settle/close once period finishes. Ignore letter if you don't want anything to change, ring if you do.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0

fwiw ive never declined an increase. for me i tend to think that the higher a limit the more potentially useful an account is - and otherwise i'd rather close it altogether.0
