Like many people I have an idea for an app but dont know what the next step is.
I dont have any spare cash to develop the app
I have zero technical knowledge
I dont want to "reinvent the wheel" so how do i check that this app isn't already available
How do i protect my app idea
Been on tinternet but cannot find any decent info
Any help would be great ( I will remember those who helped when i am a sqillionaire Mark Zuckerberg watch out)

For some time now I've been thinking about developing an app to combat procrastination.............
Seriously though, you need to learn basic code, download yourself the developers tools and get onto the dev forums for your chosen platform.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

First design your app using a pen and paper! making sure you have alls the features you want
Next learn Java (loads of free online courses to get started. )
Then:
If it's an android app then download Google's "Android Studio" and run through their tutorials.
https://developer.android.com/develop/index.html
If it's for iPhone well their is probably much the same info out there

Of course, if you Google* the idea then Google will know about it - and if it's any good they can put a few hundred of their spare programmers into designing and writing the app!
* preferably use DuckDuckGo, which doesn't 'examine' your search data...0 -
The easy way is to use platforms like shoutem.com
But seriously you won't get far until you learn how to use at least some tools.0 -
Don;t pay for a developer or dev shop. Network around and find someone technical who does projects in his free time. Convince him to work with you and sign an agreement that you guys will split the proceeds 50/50:j:j:j:j0

1. Download android sdk https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html
2. learn java http://www.w3schools.in/java-tutorial/
3. program app (I would use eclipse) https://www.eclipse.org/users/
4. profit ( I can send you my bank details )
Or , if your idea isnt too complicated you could download and try Tasker .
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
Tasker works more like a step by step "do this do that" approach and can produce some good results.
All this is obviously geared toward android apps - I wouldnt have a clue with ithings im sorry0
