Housing benefit to private landlords

if mwpt or anyone else really doesnt want poor people in London I feel they would have to be against social housing as well as HB
24% of all the homes in London are social. They should be sold off
Also housing benefit to private landlords in a lot of the country post tax probably works out cheaper than social landlords. Do the math for a higher rate taxpayer landlord in the north or midlands renting out a £500pm property who will also pay CGT and see what the net cost is
If people can't afford to live in London or anywhere else in the UK, they should move away to somewhere cheaper. That would be in a free market with no HB. I am a regular visitor to London and I would love to see it crippled.

I am baffled as to why any landlord would let a property to someone on housing benefit. Extraordinary.0

I love watching the benefits programmes on TV. I get 100% satifaction watching amateur LLs getting screwed over by tenants on HB. Love it. Amateur LLs should leave it to the professionals. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I wonder if mwpt would let the free market operate in the mortgage market so more people can buy hence less housing benefits needed?
We need a return of self cert for 10% down mortgages. And a return if 100% mortgages for non self cert borrowers
I wonder if cells will ever get over his obsession with chasing house prices forever with ever cheaper and easier credit. When his measures don't work as prices climb higher, then he will request cheaper credit.
If you ever become king, I'll immediately go out and get my Wimbledon Village mansion with 0% down, 0.1% interest only mortgage.
I also wonder if cells who is a private landlord would stop being so sensitive when people mention measures that might negatively impact them. I wonder if he will stick to the point of debating whether housing benefit is required where a free market approach might have better outcomes for more people.0 -
