Garden Fence damaged by neighbours garden

Hi,
My garden fence panels damaged almost completely by overgrown neighbours garden. It is a block of flats and no one bothers.
I am struggling to find the contacts for maintenance company; most people I spoke are tenants and not bothered. Tried to reach council and again no help.
What can I do? Is there anyway if I ever get hold of the responsible individuals I can claim fence damage against them? Or even the cost of clearing the overgrown garden?

You need to find out who the freeholder(s) is/are by doing a Land Registry search of the title to the property:
https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry
If you write to them explaining what's happening, you may get a response, but I doubt if any compensation will follow. This is because hedges don't grow overnight, except in fairy stories and it's your duty to minimise losses too.
Had you contacted them, say, a couple of years ago, you might have had a case, but really the legal route is fraught with problems and it might be better to take some kind of action yourself, replacing the panels with something less vulnerable, or tackling the offending shrubs yourself as a last resort if you get no joy from the owners of the land.
Yes, that would be technically illegal, but if the neighbours are totally disinterested, no one will bother about that either.0 -
If the damage is viewed the same as damage from trees it is handled under trespass laws as I remember.0

You may prefer to search using the official Land Registry site instead to check the freehold tenure/register as to who the legal owner is“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Land Registry. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

My post has been amended and maybe you'd like to amend yours now to remove the copycat site's details in the quote.
Apologies!:o:o
